Common Cause Community connects families to food, skills, opportunity, and each other. We've served our neighborhood for over 22 years — because no one should face hardship alone.
Choose how you want to help — or tell us what your community needs.
To strengthen the social fabric of our community by connecting neighbors to resources, removing barriers to opportunity, and building relationships that last beyond any single program.
Our Programs
Every program is community-designed, volunteer-powered, and outcome-tracked. We measure what matters: stability, connection, and forward movement.
Open twice weekly for all community members. We provide fresh produce, pantry staples, and dignity — no ID required, no income verification for basic pantry access. Families are welcomed, not processed.
Free job readiness workshops, resume coaching, interview preparation, and employer partnerships. Our 16-week program has helped over 1,800 residents enter or re-enter the workforce over the past decade.
After-school tutoring, summer learning programs, and one-on-one mentorship for students ages 6–18. Volunteer mentors are screened and trained. Program eligibility is based on community residency.
Monthly neighborhood gatherings, health fairs, resource fairs, and seasonal events that build social capital. These events are free, open to all, and designed to reduce isolation and build lasting neighbor relationships.
Our Impact
Behind every statistic is a family, a student, a neighbor who needed something and found it here.

Volunteer
Help sort, stock, and distribute food at our twice-weekly pantry. Shifts run 3–4 hours. Background check required. All volunteers receive orientation and a safety briefing before first shift.
Work with youth in our after-school program. Tutors commit to one session per week (2 hours). All youth-facing volunteers complete a background screening and a 4-hour training certification.
Share your professional skills — HR, finance, legal, technology — in our workforce development curriculum. Facilitators commit to a 2-hour session per month with optional recurring engagement.
Bring your team for a volunteer day, sponsor an event, or partner on a workforce pipeline program. Corporate partnerships include a proposal review and a documented scope of engagement.

Community Voices
"The food pantry got us through six months after my husband lost his job. No judgment — just food and kindness. We donate every year now. It's the most direct impact I know my money makes."
"I did the workforce program after a layoff at 52. I thought I was too old to start over. Sixteen weeks later I had a resume, interview confidence, and a job offer. Common Cause changed my trajectory."
"We brought 12 employees for a volunteer day at the pantry. It was the most meaningful team experience we've ever organized. Our team still talks about it eight months later. We're coming back."
